The ITT Pilates Mat Instructor Training Program is designed for those who wish to teach group Mat classes, private Mat sessions and/or home programs for private clients.
The ITT Pilates Mat program includes Anatomy and Core Dynamics, the fundamentals to all Pilates Exercises, Level 1 and 2 Mat Exercises and a final exam. This in-depth training focuses on teaching you how to embody and apply the ITT Pilates principles of sound biomechanics with insightful cueing and protocols for working with all types of individuals. The goal is to provide you with a program that develops excellent teaching skills and the confidence to become employed as a Pilates Mat instructor.
For the ITT Pilates Mat Instructor Certificate, students must attend all of the following workshops:
- Anatomy and Core Dynamics (10 hours)
- Essential Exercises Part 1 and 2 (24 hours)
- Mat Exercises Level 1 and 2 (24 hours)
- A written and practical Final exam (3 hours)
- 20 hours of Self-Practice
- 25 hours of Teaching Practice
Our studio, A Body of Work, is available during the weekends and weekdays, at no additional cost, to help you fulfill your hours of self-practice, teaching practice and observation.
Plan on spending a minimum of 5 hours per week, in addition to the weekend intensives, in order to practice the material and complete the required hours for the Mat exam.
Prerequisites: minimum of 15 Mat classes and a letter of recommendation from a certified Pilates instructor.
