At A Body of Work we keep our group Equipment classes small so that our instructors can provide a great experience for all class participants. Many people enjoy Pilates as their daily movement practice. If you already have a fitness program, then two classes a week can be a great compliment to your cardio and other workouts. Think of Pilates and Gyrotonic as your cross training tool to keep you lean, mean and flexible.
Level 1: These classes are ideal for beginners new to Pilates or Gryotonic. We recommend you have at least 5 privates before trying these group classes.
Level 2: Must be at an intermediate level of fitness, injury free and have had at least 12 private sessions. Students are expected to know Reformer settings and how to change the pieces to the appropriate positions as indicated by instructor.
All Levels: These mixed level classes are a good workout for beginning as well as experienced students who want to deepen their awareness.
Better Breathing, Posture, and Balance at Any Age
This class is designed to improve your breathing, posture, and balance which are the foundation for health, fitness, and wellbeing. What many people don't realize is that we use the same core muscles for all three functions of breathing, posture, and balance. The class uses principles from child development, physical therapy, Pilates, and yoga to strengthen your core muscles and improve your alignment. It's a mixed levels class that incorporates breathing, balance, flexibility, strength, and core-conditioning exercises. The instructor is a licensed physical therapist with 25 years experience teaching Pilates and yoga.

Pilates Mat Class for Peak Performance
This class is ideal for improving your performance in sports and daily activities as well as enhancing your posture, breathing, and Pilates practice. Class incorporates traditional Pilates mat exercises with research-proven breathing and posture techniques. This class is taught by a licensed physical therapist and certified Pilates and yoga instructor with 20 years teaching experience.
Have you ever wanted to hang from a Trapeze Bar? Now you can with our new Aerial Conditioning Class. This class combines fun and challenging circus moves on a Trapeze bar with strengthening exercises in TRX, Functional Fitness and circuit training. A full body workout to music!
Reformer Level 1
Join our highly skilled instructors as they lead you through a 55-minute full body workout to melt away your daily stress, challenge your core, and send you home feeling invigorated, relaxed and renewed.
Reformer Level 2
Take your practice to the next level and expand upon the basic Reformer exercises. You will learn more of the advanced exercises and be challenged to execute them with control, precision and flow.
Pilates Circuit – All Levels
Reformer, Cadillac, Mat, and Chair - all in one! Get the most out of your time in the studio with this fun class. You'll get a great, full body, workout and learn how the different pieces of Pilates Equipment can challenge the body from all angles.
Pilates Circuit – Level 2
You'll get a great full body workout and learn intermediate and advanced exercises to further challenge you! Build upon your skill set in this fun class and see where Pilates can take you!
Pilates for Healthy Bones – All Levels
With the older adult in mind, this class is centered on exercises that are safe for those with osteopenia and osteoporosis. The class is designed to build strength to combat bone density loss and awareness of moving through life safely to prevent injury. We recommend any persons preparing to begin an exercise program should consult with their physician before commencement.
Pilates Mat for Core Stability
Achieve a solid understanding of the Pilates mat repertoire by building a strong foundation in Pilates Mat for Core Stability. Emphasizing Essential Exercises that prepare the body for movement and the Six Principles of Pilates centering, breath, precision, control, concentration, and dynamic fluid movement. The instructor will offer traditional mat work while providing modifications and variations to suit each student's individual needs. Enjoy a whole body workout through mindful instruction in this focused and fun group class!
GYROKINESIS® – All Levels
This class taps into the bodies kinesthetic awareness and moves you through invigorating movement sequences. Initiating from the spine into spiraling movement through the entire body you will feel the heat as you work fluidly through a full body workout. Exercises are performed seated on low stools, on the floor, and standing.
GYROTONIC® Tower – All Levels
The GYROTONIC® Tower is a specialized piece of equipment using weights on a pulley system, that facilitates fluid movement for the spine, muscles and joints. Experience moving the body in multiple planes while integrating flexibility with strength training. Tying in elements from Tai Chi, gymnastics and swimming, you will get a well rounded workout with a rhythmic component which energizes the nervous system and increases overall wellness. Space is limited to 4 per class.
